Confía is what I named it

It was born from a moment of personal rupture. The Sacred Heart of Jesus—a symbol I carry tattooed on my arm—has been present in my life as an image of faith, heritage, and memory.

I grew up surrounded by art from both sides of my family. My aunt, Carmen Arochi, profoundly shaped my creativity with her mastery of painting and her constant impulse to imagine.
Later on, Gina Marshall showed me, in a single day at the Soumaya Museum, how to understand art history as a living process. Years later, my father printed a notebook with a Sacred Heart inspired by the work of Carmen Parra.
This drawing emerges during a period of deep depression, amidst questioning my professional path. The flames represent that internal state: intensity, confusion, and transformation. Drawing it was an act of liberation.
